PRP Treatment

PRP: Also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma, has been effectively utilized and highly regarded in the medical field for it’s regenerative and healing properties. It has been used for the last 20 years as a healing agent post surgery, and can sometimes regenerate enough to avoid the use of surgery altogether. Plasma treatments are often used in aesthetic medicine, orthopedics, sports medicine, plastic surgery, and dentistry.

PRP Facial: Also known as the “Vampire Facial” is an injectable rejuvenation treatment that has been known to rejuvenate damaged skin. This treatment utilizes the natural regenerative properties of your own blood to help repair and stimulate the skin’s healing. PRP is enriched with platelets, growth factors and stem cells. Injecting or micro needling the activated plasma into the skin stimulates new collagen formation resulting in tighter, smoother, and fuller looking skin. Typically, 3 sessions are recommended 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance 2-3 times per year.

PRP for Scar Reduction: Scars are a natural part of the healing process and form after an injury has occurred to the skin. They form in the dermis of the skin as the body forms new collagen fibres to repair the injured site. PRP can be used to improve the appearance of both old and new scars. It works by stimulating connective tissue cells called fibroblasts and epidermal cells called keratinocytes. When these cells are stimulated it helps to create new collagen which leads to an overall improvement in the appearance of the scar. Typically, 3 sessions are recommended 4 weeks apart.

PRP for Hair Rejuvenation: This treatment is a non-surgical option that uses your own plasma to deliver growth factors to the hair follicle. This treatment is ideal for anyone experiencing changes in the hair such as thinning, hair loss or excessive shedding. When combined with mesotherapy (injectable hair vitamins), patients notice improvement in hair growth, texture, density, colour, and a dramatic decrease in shedding. PRP for hair restoration is also an effective treatment post hair transplant surgery and is routinely recommended as part of a post- operative plan by surgeons. Typically, a minimum of 4 sessions are recommended 4 weeks apart. Mesotherapy can be done in between at two-week intervals.

Results: Results from PRP are not immediate. It can take 6-12 months to visually see results, although most individuals may start to see results sooner.
